Site Selection and Re-Invigoration—Acute Myocardial Infarction

Examining all the factors that affect enrollment—including site motivation and internal economics—provides a more comprehensive understanding of the recruiting landscape. For this study, HCG evaluated the actual workflow resource demands and costs required to execute the protocol from the site’s perspective and compared that to the sponsor’s grant and resource calculations.

Under-trained Emergency Department personnel neglected potential study candidates because of complex IVRS and drug administration procedures. HCG developed DVD training that shortened the learning curve for the ED staff and provided a dose of confidence.

HCG qualified potential new investigators based on the recruitment drivers identified through assessment of best practices at existing sites. Using those drivers as a litmus test, HCG was able to rank Investigators into four tiers so that the sponsor could fund initiation of those sites best positioned to produce results.
